Join us for Movie Night. This event includes both dinner and a movie! Each month we will present a different thought provoking movie that addresses mind expanding topics of interest. Our movie of the month is  [b]Sexo por compasión (2000) (Compassionate Sex),[/b] followed by an open discussion of the film. We will also have plenty of delicious food available.

Plot summary: SHE SAVED A VILLAGE LOOKING FOR LOVE.
Sadness reigns over a small town in Spain. Only Dolores (Elisabeth Margooni), a large middle-aged woman, still believes in the future. Dolores is a very good catholic woman, considered almost a saint by the villagers. She is devastated when her beloved husband Manolo (José Sancho), leaves her with the argument that she was too perfect, without any sin in her life. Determined to win him back,  Dolores tries to find how she could commit a sin, and in the local bar she hears that the worst sin a woman could do is to cheat on her husband with another man.  She decides to sin for the first time by sleeping with another man; but it turns out that through her sexual act of compassion, she saves the life of this man and the supposed sin becomes an act of charity. It is soon evident that Dolores has a gift. Dolores adopts the pseudonym of Lolita and has sex for compassion with all the men of the village. It is through her compassionate sex that she brings back the color and the happiness to a town that was immersed in sadness. Men and women live happily together again, until one-day her husband returns...

This surreal movie uses the idea of the 1998 Pleasantville, regarding to the use of black & white and colors to express the feeling of the villagers. The direction of Laura Mañá and the performance of the unknown cast are marvelous. The simple story hooks-up the attention of the viewer along the 109 minutes without being boring in any moment. The soundtrack is another magnificent attraction of this wonderful film.
